Field is one memory you keep for your whole life. Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Siri, or your own agents join it only with your consent, so you never have to re-explain yourself. And the moments you share with the people you love sit side by side instead of getting lost between apps.
The problem
Your context lives inside whichever company you talked to last. Switch assistants and you start from zero. Your family's photos and stories are spread across a dozen accounts, and a childhood can end up stuck inside a parent's login.
What Field is today
Field is in private beta on iPhone and Mac through TestFlight. It is not on the App Store yet. Right now we are making one promise bulletproof: what you tell one mind, the next mind already knows, without you asking it to look anything up.
Your memory is a signed, append-only log that you hold. Minds read it; they don't own it.
Tell one assistant something, and a different one can use it on its next turn.
Small private beta. Features beyond memory continuity are design work, not shipped product.

Beta screens are from the iOS Simulator. Previews are renders of an interactive design demo and may differ from the app.
Where it's going
Each person owns one portable Field. Fields meet each other only on their owners' terms.
Each person adds the photos and notes they choose to one shared moment. Memories sit side by side, credited to whoever added them and never merged. Nobody hands over their camera roll.
Typed relationships that change over time set what is shared and which minds may ask. Your side is private: nobody sees how you've labeled them.
A child's Field loosens from a parent's on a schedule, and at adulthood it is theirs. Their childhood moments go with them; nothing about their later life flows back without new consent.
Minds join by consent with scoped, expiring access and an audit trail. A specialist can read one moment for 72 hours, then the access ends.
A hotel room or rental car gets only the permissions the moment needs (set the thermostat, unlock 412) and nothing about who you are. Access ends at checkout.
The protocol is designed so any conforming host can store a Field, not just ours. Your memory shouldn't depend on one company staying around, including us.
The open protocol
The Field protocol is an open, draft standard for how owned memories meet: the moment object, typed relationships, and consent rules. The app is the best way in, not the gatekeeper.

Safety principles
These are must-pass rules in the draft spec. No relationship or moment feature ships until they hold.
Sharing happens per moment and per relationship, with scoped grants that expire and can be revoked. Every read is logged.
Relationship levels the other side can't see, a duress path, live location off by default, and a quiet way out.
When people part, each withdraws their own contributions. Nobody can delete someone else's memory.
Graduated consent for children, so a teenager's privacy grows by design rather than by fights.
Waitlist
The beta is small and invite-only. Implementers interested in the protocol or in running a second host: we'd especially like to hear from you.
